Parking

Small car park off Coldharbour Lane, windy narrow country road to get to it.

Terrain

Very hilly here, lots of ups and downs and some steep sections. Mainly muddy woodland paths but when I visited cast majority were quite wide and nice and flat, but looked like would be very boggy in parts when wetter. No steps, no gates or stiles.

Water

Not really - one tiny stream but barley deep enough to paddle, might be different in wetter seasons.

Poo Bins

No bins here

Author Review

Another one where it's a little tricky to direct as there are numerous paths and route options. There are some quite wide main routes, and lots of smaller routes - this is a popular mountain bike trail location so be warned if you do head off on the smaller tracks, some are made by them and are very narrow and steep as those guys are clearly lunatics!

I took the main track left from the car park past the fenced off water treatment place on your right. This took me round to the right and down the hill, at the bottom of the hill I took a right where it forked off on the slightly narrower trail through the lower trees. Keeping on this direction with fields visible through the trees on your left I ignored a lot of the right turns going up the steep hill until the path widened and I rejoined a more major route up to the right. This took me up a long steep hill, turning right and the top and carrying on in that direction until I got back to the car.

Do take a GPS app here, if you do go in the wrong direction, chances are it will be a big climb back up to where you need to go! The forests are nice and open and a great place to explore, there were a couple of other dog walkers and like I said it is popular with mountain bikers so do be aware of them - on the first stretch also there were signs saying there is a live shooting range near so especially for that part unless you have a super obedient dog it's on the lead. Well behaved dogs will have plenty of off lead opportunities, but with the bikers and lots of pheasants about too, today Hank was kept on the lead but still had a great walk.
