Author Review

The car park here is located very close to the great view point at the start, and once you're taking in the views if you look to the left you'll see the scaled looking shelter called Perspectives by Artist Giles Miller. There's benches inside and it's a great place to sit and enjoy the views, we passed it twice and both times had people in it so sorry no great photos here!

I carried on past the sculpture and the path continues along the ridge of the hill running parallel to the road. After a while the path veers round to the left and we came to an enormous valley which Hank loved running up and down, and then we carried on past this on the same side of the road up the hill.

After about 1.6km in total, I used one of the smaller paths on the left and soon we crossed the road and through Hurtwood car Park 12 and straight onto the long straight path alongside the heathland and tall pine forest. At the end of this we went left, and followed in that direction for a while. The path goes down a steep dip at the end, and straight ahead there is a sign for private land so go left here, and this narrow woodlands track takes you back to the valley you've already been to so re-join the path you came in on to return.

Wasn't as busy as I was expecting with only a handful of other walkers, is popular with cyclists though and some parts are used by horses.

*** Is nearest postcode, but won't take you exactly there - best look for Greensand Lane and you can drive along and find the car parks
