There's not too many waterfalls on our islands but our author's have scouted out some of the best we have to offer across all four corners of our land.
We still have lots of areas to explore so if you have any other recommendations do please let us know, but here is a seclection of our favourites so far!
Spectacular river walk in the Yorkshire Dales, following the cascading rocky river with rapids and falls, with the most spectacular being the main picture here - the Thornton Force Waterfall.
This countryside route can be busy at times, but as well as the falls there are some fantastic views, a lovely village at the start / finish with cafes and pubs and look out for the Money tree - check out the walk page for more info.
It's no surpise to see the Lake Disctrict feature in this list and near to Penrith, running along the shores of Ullswater you can find this beauty, the Aira Force Waterfall walk.
Steep and windy in parts as you'd expect, it's a popular family walk with plenty of spots for your dog to splash and paddle along the picturesque route - be aware though some areas are desceptively deep!
Not so much a single spectacular waterfall here so maybe a little cheat, but this Snowdonia route in North Wales follows a fast and winding river which has lots of fantastic spots with crashing water over the large rocky terrain creating lots of smaller falls and swerving rapids.
It's a 10.4km route over tough terrain so go prepared, and maybe plan a little rest at one of the lovely pubs in the area on your way back!
Up to the Highlands of Scotland now, with this mythical looking region providing some unique and stunning landsdcapes. With the jagged rocks in the dense forest and old stone bridges, archways and pathways across the ravines and opening up in places with amazing views.
In South East England we have a huge array of stunning locations and scenery, but we're not blessed with specatucular waterfall locations so this is a complete cheek to include in this list I know, but it's the best we can offer!! Ashdown Forest has some wonderful little streams and nooks, and when it's wet this little waterfall is a great spot for dogs to splash in and get your photo op! Well worth a visit, and also check out Chelwood Vachery for some lovely water features albeit they are man made from some old stately gardens!
