Large free car park of the Albury Heath sports club - donations welcomed
Quite hilly here with a few steep parts. Lots of stiles and kissing gates, although Hank had no trouble getting through any of them. Are two un-barriered train crossings (are kissing gates but just beware). Mix of sandy, muddy woodland paths and grassy fields in the main.
We found a great little shallow stream to walk through just off one of the fields
Bins up by the sports hall
As you drive into the sports field we parked on the sandy spaces immediately on your right, and the main path headed off straight in from of us. It was the first path on the right, not particularly easy to differentiate from others.
We followed this path through the woodlands and down the hill until we came to a tarmac road crossing, and the path continued left immediately once you've crossed.
This then takes you down the hill overlooking some fields, until you come to the first train line crossing. Over the crossing the signage was pretty useless as you enter the field but essentially the stile is in the far opposite corner (had electric fence running through it?!? so we just went under the fence on to the road), and then you follow the farm track left until you cross the road again and continue into the first field just on your right as you come to the road.
This path goes straight through the field and this is the field that has the stream running adjacent to it on your right. This path leads to a small group of houses, again signage here is rubbish but if you head left up the road almost going back on yourself then you'll see the footpath shortly - this then takes you through fields (great views from the top) and up the hill back to the woodland you started in. There's more woodland to explore if you want, or if you just keep going straight you'll come to the path you started on so head right to the car park.
Bit of a lengthy explanation this one! But sounds worse than it was, it's a fairly straight forward route really!
There's some lovely scenery here, and an interesting walk that we really enjoyed. Off lead for perfect recall dogs only, with the railway crossings, private road crossings (very quiet, we saw no cars), cattle, and horses it's not a place you want your dog running off!
