I parked in the Village Hall car park just off the main road. The entrance to the start of the route starts sign-posted in the road right next to the hall
Mostly nice and flat walk, starting on road then through fields, then grassy paths alongside the river. Think I timed it just right in March though as still slightly boggy, but sure is quite bad ion wetter months. Lots of stiles! Most were broken or had big gaps and Hank was fine, but bigger dogs won't be.
Hank's not much of a swimmer but even so don't think I'd be happy with him swimming in the river as quite a lot of swirls and strong currents. Quite boggy/marshy round the river banks too.
No bins here
Village Hall is next to the Fountain pub which sadly I've not been to but has very good local reputation so could be worth a trip!
Loved this walk, beautiful rural scenery through farmland and river views up to the downs.
It was incredibly peaceful, only seeing a couple of other walkers in the distance and far from and busy road noise. Saw deers, a heron, lots of birds and really pretty scenery. A couple of nice open fields where I was happy to let Hank off too so all round great walk for us.
The route is very simple following the farm road next to the village hall past the fields, about 3/4 of a km on there's a gate signposted on your left where the path goes across a field so take that. A couple of fields later you'll see the first bridge right in front of you, head over the bridge, turn right, keep going until you see the next bridge, cross that and then come back on the other side of the river.
We didn't see any livestock today but think that's probably because the fields were waterlogged but sure they'll be around, and check terrain section for more details as stiles here!
