There is a small car park that is free but people tend to park all alongside the road as you can see from the photos.
Reasonably flat walk but there are some small hills throughout the woodland dependant on the trail you follow, We walked the circumference of the woods on this walk but there are lots of trails running all the way through so you can mix it up a bit and go exploring.

https://www.maltsterspub.com/ is located in the village of Badby and offers food and accomodation and is dog friendly. You can even walk from the village to the woods, there is no need to drive up to the car park.
The woods are situated very close to the beautiful Fawlsey estate, and is famous for its bluebells in the spring, and where you are able to view the Dower House. Which reportedly is where Joseph Merrick (the elephant man) stayed with Lady Ursula during the late 1880s.
These pretty woods near Daventry have miles of good woodland trails to try, like most woodland walks depending on the time of year it can get very muddy and boggy in places and when the Bluebells are out in the spring it does get very very busy. We have seen deer in the woods as well so be aware if you have your dog off lead and they like a chase.
There are plenty of off lead opportunites in these woods though, just be mindful of the fact it does get very busy with other dog walkers and families so apply common sense with letting your dog run free etc.
