Head through the main entrance to Buxted Park Hotel, and we parked next to the church and was plenty of spaces, free of charge too. Patrons can park in the hotel, so if you fancy a drink can always do that as advertises that it is a dog friendly hotel.
Bit of a hill down to the ponds from the church but gradual paths and not steep at all, other than that very flat. We went in pretty dry times, and some areas were still boggy although easily avoided, but reckon in wetter seasons will be much worse. Some of the paths around the ponds and to get to the streams are uneven and a bit of a clamber up or down muddy banks which again will be worse in wetter weather.
The two main ponds are signposted as no dogs, but there are still lots of smaller streams and parts to splash in.

The impressive hotel builing dates back to 1722 and the park itself dates back to the 12th century!
I've had this on my list for a while now, but left it to the side as just assumed it was going to be going to be a very busy location but visiting on a sunny Spring Sunday we were veyr pleasantly surpised as there wer only a handful of people around, and we had plenty of space.
It's a beatiful area too, we walked through the church graveyard and out onto the heath which is a large area to roam with lots of paths and fallen trees. Then to your right you have the various ponds with little interconnecting paths and bridges and it's a great little area to explore, and you can also see the more manicured lawns and gardens up to the impressive hotel facade.
I don't know the deal with the Deer (I was expecting hundreds like Petworth) as there weren't any at all, so not sure if that's just an outdated name or they were just somewhere else today, but are lots of geese and wildlife around the ponds. Around the heath area much more opportunity for off lead running and freedom.
