The original pathway we wanted to use was water logged and a mud fest so we took a slightly different foot path across the meadow rather than following the river. there are a couple of gates, but all clearly marked out. There is also a section that crosses over a pond area that is a reasonably thin plank type crossing, Riley decided to jump off it (of course) but any sensible dog would be able to cross it without any problem.
There is a river running through the woodland area of this walk which made great spots for swimming for Riley. Obviously the more rain the area has the higher/lower the water but there are no strong currents so dogs can enjoy a good swim or paddle.

The Bell Inn on Church Street is a beautiful 18th century Cotswold stone building, located at the heart of Charlbury. They love welcoming our canine companions and muddy boots are always welcome. Dogs are also welcome to stay overnight in the dog friendly accommodation. www.thebellatcharlbury.com
Lots of off lead opportunities going through the meadows and woods. If you can try and visit Charlbury and do this walk in the month of May when the buttercups are out. The smell of them are gorgeous and its so amazing to see the dog running through the meadows, pre warning though if your dog was white when it started running through the meadows it will end up yellow by the end.
