There is a small car park at the back of the Duke where this route starts, there is also limited parking in the village on the roadside in Clifton, as always be mindful and considerate when parking outside residents homes.
Relatively flat, with a couple of stiles, a bit muddy during the winter.
No water here
In the villages of Clifton and Deddington but none on the route itself.
Half way round you can pop over to the Red Lion Inn in Deddington and then return back to the Duke for a post walk pint. You could also add in a quick loop of the English Heritage Deddington Castle Site if you wish as the route passes directly by it, find out more here www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/deddington-castle.
This 9.5KM walk can be combined with the Deddington and Hempton Circular route on our page if you want a longer walk.
It starts at the cute village of Clifton at the Duke Pub which conveniently has a camp site located at the rear of the pub, suitable for campers, vans, tents etc, even has a few glamping units you can rent, see all the details here www.thedukecamping.co.uk. The roast dinner smelled amazing as we sat in our muddy clobber in the garden outside.
You walk across open fields and countryside for most of this walk with plenty of off lead opportunites, if you're lucky you can see some alpacas on the outskirts of Deddington as you loop back. Be warned there are deer on this walk, luckily I saw them well before any of the 3 dogs we had with us did, but I imagine it's a regular occurance in this part of the Oxfordshire.
