Lots of road parking on Dell Quay road before you get to the pub
It's a very flat walk, the first half is mainly on country road and gravel paths to get to the Marina. The way back is a bit more bumpy through woodland and fireld trails, some of which are quite boggy in parts. Can go on the pebble beach by choice but no need to to complete the route.
Although it's a coastal walk, water not a great feature here. When we visited at low tide nowhere really to access water apart from a bit at Dell Quay but quite boggy to even get there.
Only saw one in the Marina
Sadly Hank is not a pub dog but the Crown and Anchor at Dell Quay smelled incredible as we walked past and a nice garden too. There is also The Boat House restaurant at The Marina wth cafe and restaurant.
There is a bit of road section here, but very quiet dead end road to Dell Quay and this is where the walk starts from. You can go eitehr way round but we started off going inland through the fields which tales you throguh famland and a small copse to get to the Marina. We then followed the coastal path and beach on the way back before exploring Dell Quay a little.
The fields used to be a temporary airfield during the second world war and essentially it's this area the loop walks around, and the scenery both there and back makes for a lovely peaceful walk.
If we weren't a bit restricted for time we would have spent a bit more time exploring the Marina and checking out the boats, and it was quiet too but sufe they wouldn't be the case on a warm summers day.
The coastal section does have a path all the way but as the tide was low we walked along the beach for a part. Be careful here though as the pebbles are covered in slippery seaweed, and also it's not really a beach walk, with boggy sections and deep mud flats - even on-lead Hank found a deep bog to plod through which wasn't obvious to see so don't let dogs run off to the sea as could easily get stuck!!
Fantastic walk for a sunny Autumn day, not too many people either just a couple of other walkers and a cyclist. Lots of benches and places to stop and take a minute too.
