Several free car parks, I parked on Blackbrock Road next to Fourwents Pond.
Mainly flat throughout, muddy woodland paths, grassy routes and a few gravel paths too. No stiles.
The Fourwents Pond is a beautiful spot to start the walk and see the wildfowl, with plenty of shallow spots and benches around too. Some parts of the lake though are very close to the road. There are some narrow streams also within the common.
One poo bin in the car park
You can vary your route parking at one of the various car parks on Mill Road or Blackbrock Road.
Heading here on a beautiful Spring day in the Easter holidays I expected this place to be heaving but it really wasn't, there were a handful of other walkers but it wasn't busy and we had a lovely peaceful walk. There are routes set out on the info boards in the car park or you can head off and explore, there's plenty more routes if you want a longer walk than mine.
It's a great picnic spot and family day out, with lots of woodlands to explore and great open spaces. Some paths near the perimeter do cross roads and it's not fenced off so keep an eye on that, and is used by horses too.
