We try and park on the road up by the doctors surgery in Hook Norton, stops clogging up the village and doesn't use any of the pub car parks.
Relatively flat, another big open country fields walk with a few gates and a couple of stiles. One main obstacle when we walked this route in October is a large field of sprouts, which doesn't sound too harmless but they were huge plants and it had been raining the day before so we got soaked walking through
No water here
There are only bins in the villages.
The village of Hook Norton has three places to quench your thirst, The Sun Inn, The Pear Tree Inn and of course the Hook Norton Brewery, we can honestly say each one has the Riley stamp of approval ;). When you do this walk and make your way over to Whichford, there is also the Norman Knight to make a stop off at, we recommend the Charcutterie sharing platter if you want a snack. All the pubs have good gardens and welcome dogs. For those walkers who like a campsite within walking distance of our routes check out Gate Hangs High, www.thegatehangshigh.co.uk, just outside of Hook Norton but you can definitely incorporate it into this route without much bother.
Another bit of everything walk, some woodland, open fields, cute Oxfordshire villages, pub stops and plenty of off lead opportunities. It also crosses over and follows parts of the Seven Shires Way and D'Arcy Dalton Way. Let us know how you get on going through the sprouts if they are there! It was deffinately a first for us!
