We parked in a lay-by on Weston’s hill, it’s on the right when approaching from Horsham - what three words keys.stored.hydration. There’s only space for 1 or maybe 2 cars as there’s a sign saying not to obstruct the gate
Mostly quite flat and wasn’t too muddy when we went. There are railway crossings, both of which have stiles and one has steep steps too.
One small stream
No bins here
Near the start of the walk you can see Christ’s Hospital school. It then runs along the downs link for a bit which you could join for a longer walk.
Cross the road and follow the footpaths into fields. Stella had a good run off lead here, and there’s some nice views over to Christ’s Hospital school. You then walk through a small copse before crossing the railway. We turned right just before the downslink, it’s not very clearly signed but there’s a footpath that starts off parallel to the downslink that runs along the edge of the field. Then you walk through a farm (*See note) before crossing the railway again. We turned left after crossing the railway and joined the bridleway, we saw a few deer which Stella found very exciting, glad she was on lead! After the bridleway you have to walk a short way along the road back to the lay-by but you can mostly walk on the verge. Overall a nice walk with lots of off lead opportunities but be aware of deer if your dog is likely to chase them!
*10/4/22, Thank you for message from visitor Hayley. When you get to the farm as mentioned above there is a junction with sign as below, to follow the route follow the sign to the livery stables
