Large car park - RingGo ref 38159, see photos for current prices and closing times. What3Words: ///jaws.will.trees
Quite a hilly walk but no steep climbs. Most pathways are grass or chalky with couple of small woodland sections but not too muddy anywhere in quite a wet May. No stiles, lots of kissing gates.
No water here
Only bin I saw was on the first path from the car park to the Regiment of Trees at the beginning
So much historical info available for this site - best bet check the Woodland Trust link in the review section for more details. Also you can see Espom racecourse at times.
I don't usually use this section to direct people away from the website but it's such a fascinating area and The Woodland Trust has lots of really helpful info and background on the historical elementsiwhtin the site so I would definitely recommend checking out the details on the below link:

It's a fairly new area having only been bought in 2014 and it's clear an awful lot of care and consideration has gone into this place. The Regiment of Trees (12 soldier sculptures) and Witness (6m Oak memorial) are two fascinating features which are right off the first path from the car park, and then the routes take you through the grounds with cherry tree fields through the rolling hills. Dotted all along are other historical info boards, memorials and benches and there's lots to take in.
The trees are all very young and it looks beautiful now but will have to go back in a few years too as sure will look amazing then.
We checked the info board and followed the Downs View route which was the dark blue signs and found it fairly easy to get around with good signage. Took the best part of an hour and a half, but will take a bit longer if you want to stop and read all the signs so leave a bit of time. There are signs stating that all areas are on-lead so not one for free running but we loved it here and will definitely be going back.
