Flat terrain throughout the park, with a series of woods and gentle trails around the lakes. The paths located near the Watersport Lake and the residential areas are mainly chalk paths and grassy parts.
The 93 hectares (230 acres) of lakes provide a peaceful location for wildlife and birdwatching, whilst also allowing water loving dogs to go for a swim.
Mainly located near the Visitor Centre, Watersport Lake and the paths along the residential areas.
Although the feature was closed, the Watersport Lake allows the watersports enthusiasts the opportunity to windsurf, canoe and kayak in the man-made lakes. Diving also takes place in one of the lakes.
It's a great destination for all dogs, but if your dog loves water, then Leybourne Lakes has to be included in your places to visit list. It is a vast area with different features depending on where you walk. Playgrounds, food stalls, toilets and grassy areas, are located by the main entrance and what's probably one of the busiest attraction of the park, The Watersport Lake. That's where you will encounter the majority of people and dogs.
Once you move away from these areas, the routes will be quiet and with plenty of opportunities for your dog to go for a swim. The nearby lakes (to the west and north of the park) are mainly used for private angling, so you might see a few people fishing along the way. At just over 2 hours, we managed to walk (with several stops) along the lakes, but you can spend a lot more time in there. So consider it as more of a day out destination.
