Linton's Car Park off Coleman's Hatch Road with space for around 15 cars I reckon, was quite busy but managed to squeeze in.
Quite muddy paths here which had mostly dried out when we visited although were still some boggy bits. Nothing too steep but is quite holly and paths are very uneven in places. No stiles.
Not deep enough for swimming but the stream runs along the second half of the walk and is great for playing.
No bins here
I actually intended to park in the Ridge car park to start this walk, but it was fenced off so parked in Lintons which is pretty much directly opposite.
So from Lintons cross the road, and go through The Ridge Car park. Choose the route in the far right corner and head through the heath and straight over down the hill through the woods. From here on you pretty much keep direct ahead at any path options, until around 1.5km in when you go down the hill and cross the stream. Here you go along the narrow path which runs adjacent to the stream which takes you back up the hill and eventually meets the path you came in on so a nice easy route.
There's so many places to explore in Ashdown Forest, and for some this may be slightly underwhelming as you don't have the vast open spaces or amazing views, but due to that it's much quieter than the more popular routes, and there's some beautiful forest sections and the winding stream path back is a lovely feature.
We only passed a handful of people, so Hank was on and off the lead here - it is used by horses too so watch out fro them.
