Pay and display car park - see photos for current prices. 2.1m barrier
All pebble beach, but very accessible boardwalk along the top for easy flat walk.
Tide times:
Bins in the car park, and also along the boardwalk at various points if you walk inland a bit where the paths from the road join.
Built in 1857 as defence against Napoleon, the fort is right by the car park - was closed to public when I went though
Was a bit of a grey day when we visited here, but when the sun peeped through the clouds for a split second the water was a beautiful turquoise.
There is a boardwalk that you can walk along the top of the beach much further than we did if you wish, we went at low tide and had a quick splash by the sea but the large pebbles were quite hard going for Hank so we switched back to the path for most of the way.
It's a nice beach which wasn't quiet but not busy either, but like any beach I'm sure come sunny weather will be a lot busier.
