Parking right at the bottom of the hill. Free for National Trust members, £8.00 per person if not.
Through the grounds is very easy and on pathways. Holly Bush Wood is over boarded tracks and woodland paths, little bit hilly but nothing extreme.
Not a lot, but a few streams to hop over.
Several bins around the gardens and cafe area.
Good facilities with toilets, cafe, shops etc.
As you'd expect on a nice day, a place like this will be pretty busy. It's quite dog-friendly, there are some parts of the gardens which are clearly signed for No Dogs but there are still plenty of places you can go.
There are several trails here and we took the one for the Holly Bush Wood which takes you through the gardens and down the hill and along the boarded walk over streams and through woodlands. As you head down into the woods off the main track we started the loop going right - one tip, once you get to the Woodlanders Rest Cabin, the path heads off to the left, behind the cabin which takes you back. We first went straight past it which did lead us straight back to the car park but only to be stopped by a locked gate so had to go back.
If you want somewhere where you can take the family, or to meet up with friends and enjoy the cafe then it is a lovely spot with well kept gardens that you'd expect - in truth though if you're just looking for a dog walk it's just ok, and pretty expensive too if you're not already a national trust member.
