Several car parks around the area but we parked in Upper Lodges Car Park which was easily accessible, pretty busy even at non-peak times though. Get the PayByPhone App in advance if you can, see pics for current rates. Not 24hrs either so check sign - closed at 5pm when we went
Nothing too steep but quite a lot of hills, long hills too! Mostly woodland paths, no stiles.
No water here
Yes, in the car park and also another car park we walked through
Not much here, but if you want to park at Stanmer tea rooms on the other end of my route there's more facilities there - can walk there from where I parked to as well.
I checked out this place online before I visited and was expecting large open fields and downs views but think I must have been looking at the wrong part of this place as is quite a large area with other access points. From where I parked you walk out onto an open field with views over Brighton, but pretty much immediately walk into the woods and that's all there was.
Not that that's a bad thing, it was a lovely woodland walk and going on a snowy December day was really pleasant. Despite it being a cold and icy school day it was pretty busy, a popular place with professionals I think as most people tended to be walking with 5 or 6 dogs!
I recommend checking the public footpath map here of you want to get your bearings, I had to keep going off-route to avoid other people as Hank continues to be too excited by other dogs so ended up with a bit to a criss-crossed route going back and forth. Several different routes to explore, and if you do want a slightly longer walk you can walk up to the tea rooms too.
