Limited parking at the pub and through the village, please remember to park respectfully of the local residents, it is only a small village
Relatively flat walk, no stiles but a few gates.
There is plenty of seasonal water on this walk but also a river and a canal, both have access for dogs to swim and neither have strong currents.
In the village there are poo bins but nowhere else on the actual route. There is also a container with poo bags available in the village which is something we haven't seen before but a really good idea.
This walk starts and ends at The Red LIon in Steeple Aston, another super dog friendly pub, even offering snacks on the bar for dogs. it has a lovely garden outside, we did this walk in March so we didn't get to use the garden, but we'll deffinately be back, the sunday roast smelled amazing as well, so it's a must on our re-visit list! Nestled in the Oxfordshire countyside, the villages of Steeple and Middle Aston are located in the Cherwell valley, between the City of Oxford (14.4 miles away) and Banbury (10.2 miles). The closest town is Bicester, which is just 8.5 miles away. The village is ideally located and has excellent connections. There is easy road access to both villages from the M40 and the journey takes around 15 minutes. There is also road access from the A4260 Oxford to Banbury Road, which is about five minutes away.
Great Countryside walk with a mixture of everything, open fields and canal side sections which mean lots of off lead shenanigans for the dogs. Only grazing sheep in one field when we did the walk but you can see well in advance if there is anything grazing in the fields due to the open nature of this walk. It can be very wet in a couple of sections if we've had a lot of rain like we have recently, but if you've got the right footwear on it wont stop you completing a lovely Oxfordshire ramble.
