Braypool Lane is just off the roundabout at the A27 - look out for the Hot & Cold food van and exit there, head right up the hill and the walk starts off the road through the gate at the top on the left. Parking available along the road.
Hilly - uphill on the way there, downhill on the way back, nothing too steep though. No stiles. Grassy, chalk paths.

The memorial was built on the cremation site for Hindus and Sikhs who died serving alongside British troops in the First World War, and was unveiled in 1921 - there's more info on the notice board which I've included in my photos.
We were lucky that the weather was beautiful when we visited and it's a lovely walk. As you walk through the first field as you get to the top, it's not long before you can see the memorial in the distance and it's a straight forward there and back route. There are plenty of other routes round here and you can even even walk to Ditchling Beacon if you want to go further.
Through the fields along the way there are great views across the downs and over Brighton, the fields are used for grazing but no animals directly along our route today. Wasn't busy either, we only passed a handful of people.
The memorial itself is in such a beautiful location, it's a sombre reminder of those who lost their lives in the war and to offer remembrance. It's a perfect stop at the mid-point of the walk to have a rest, appreciate the views and the memorial itself and to take it all in!
