I parked in the small church car park past Gladys Bevan Hall - not huge though so avoid Sunday mornings
Flat walk mostly, but already very muddy when I went so wellies a good shout. Couple of stepped sections and some parts of path are narrow with overgrown verges. Is a small road section. Several kissing gates - 1 stile!
As you come down the path from the car park if you head straight to the river there is a little shallower gradient section where you could have a splash. Will depend on river level of course, and do beware as river has s strong current so not ideal swimming spot.
Poo bin right at the start of the walk at the end of the car park
Check out Bramber Castle for another pretty local route
From the church walk straight out the far end of the car park - there's a fork in the path and I took the right side going down the steps to the river bank. I took a right following the river path before crossing the bridge and heading left on the other side and it's a very easy loop from there.
I admit my planning was a bit rubbish here as was expecting the route to be longer so ended up a pretty short route, but if you want to explore more the public footpaths continue for miles along the river in either direction so plenty of scope for that.
Pretty little river walk that's well used by other walkers, and nice scenery viewing the downs, swans and other wildlife. There was one stile on the far side of the river, Hank wouldn't have got through it had it not been for a loose section of barbed wire to the side where he could easily get under, but if anyone fixes that beware it won't be suitable for bigger dogs or ones that can't jump!
When you come to the road to cross the river be careful as the narrow opening is very much a blind corner and cars can't see you until you're out - you do have to walk across the bridge on the main road but it's not a hugely busy or fast stretch of road.
