There is a lay-by off New Road right on the corner of the sharp bend next to the start of the route - space for 2 or 3 cars. Couple of smaller lay-bys a short walk up too.
Quite a hilly walk, with a couple of steep sections. Paths are muddy woodland trails which even in May were a bit slippery and boggy so in winter I imagine will be considerably worse. No stiles.
No water here.
No bins here
Don't let the name of this walk fool you, it's not a common as I know it but it's a lovely walk through peaceful woodlands. Most pathways are guided so there's not an awful lot of open space either side to roam, but it's still a nice walk with some lovely scenery and Hank was off the lead for most of the way, only going back on near unknown fields (just being wary of livestock - but didn't see any) and a couple of very minor private road crossings.
The public footpath heads away from the corner of the road just in from of my car in the photos, and follows the private drive for a short while before going off to the right before any residences. After a while there's a steep hill to walk down, and at the very bottom there's a fork where we went right. This is the apex of the loop, and for once I didn't get lost so would recommend following my route if you want a fairly short walk, but GPS app recommended as there are several route variations with lots of signposts along the way.
