Small car park, height limit of 2.4m. Lots of signs of flooding and ice so careful in winter.
Mostly flat but little bit hilly with some steps on far side of lake, paths are woodland trails which can be muddy and lots of exposed tree roots making it bumpy in patches. No stiles.
Perfect place for water. From shallow streams, to lakes with shallow banks for great access to the water. We didn't see any anglers today or signs saying don't go in the water (may have been some but didn't see!) but apparently a couple of the lakes are for fishing only so do check first. Even so there's still plenty of places to splash around.
Poo bin in car park
You can also access Ludsworth Common. I hope to come back to add that as a separate walk at some point.
It's a nice quick walk really with a very easy route. We just followed the path from the car park to the first lake, then just followed it round, crossed when we were ready and came back the other side.
It's a stunningly beautiful area with huge old trees with exposed roots, and the picturesque lakes and streams making for a fantastic and peaceful walk - it was surprisingly quiet too, we only passed a handful of other dog walkers. There are also signs saying no horses or cycling through parts, which will be a disappointment for some but for me and Hank was great!
It's nice and open so plenty of off lead opportunities, Hank was just on the lead today as ducks are proving very tempting at the moment and there's lots around.
