Is a lay-by with space for 2 or 3 cars just past Brookland Way. If full there's residential roads around so may be a short walk to the start.
Mostly very flat, most paths are grassy mud trails which are a little bumpy in places. Kissing gate to start, and is a train track crossing where there are two large stiles. Both have a gap that Hank got under ok, but dogs much bigger than him won't.
Plenty of water, but as a nature reserve dogs wouldn't be welcome in the water. In wetter seasons the whole place is pretty much under water so one to avoid then.
No bins here
The walk includes Greatham bridge, which was originally built in the late 13th century.
Great for nature lovers here, it's a beautiful nature reserve and very quiet with lots of birds, wildlife, and the marshlands with long wild grasses and reeds.
The path starts just in front of my car in the picture and the route is very simple, there's a map at the start as well as half way round but it's so flat it's pretty difficult to lose your bearings here.
There are signs saying keep dogs on leads so not one for free running, but perfect for a warm summers evening and in truth with all the bunnies, ducks, wildfowl and sheep Hank would have been on the lead anyway today.
