Large National Trust Car park, free for members - see link in about my walk section to check current prices and closing times.
Is quite hilly with a few steep and stepped sections. There is a much smaller Blue route with access to all but very short.
Large lake, several small stream sections (along red route) but with dogs on lead there's not much chance to swim or have too much splashing fun.
General waste bin between the tea rooms and entrance hut
Great family day out with tea rooms, shop, WC facilities and kids adventure playground.
Heading here in Spring in the heart of Bluebell season the gardens really are beautifully kept. There are three main routes set out and easily navigable by the coloured bollards - we loosely chose the red route for the main walk but cut it a little short after the lake.
Some beautfiul areas and views, great for nature lovers and great for meeting up. Pretty dog-friendly too, although all dogs are on leads so great social walk but not one for off lead running.
